Green Sandpiper, a juvenile Ruff and two Little Stints. Sussex birding with Wildstarts.
A new extraction at Scotney has been drawing in multiple wader species. It is quite easy to see around 15 different waders in a visit there at the moment. From left to right, this image shows a Green Sandpiper, a juvenile Ruff and two Little Stints.
Juvenile Wood Sandpiper. Sussex birding with Wildstarts.
Uncommon species have included Wood Sandpiper (in this image) and Curlew Sandpiper, as well as the even rarer Pectoral Sandpiper and Temminck's Stint
Juvenile Little Ringed Plover in flight. Sussex birding with Wildstarts.
It is possible to see both Little Ringed Plover (as here) and Ringed Plover in the new pit
Merlin in flight. Sussex birding with Wildstarts.
The concentration of waders has attracted raptors, like this Merlin, as well as Hobby and Sparrowhawk
